        Naomi Simson, RedBalloon

        As one of Australia’s most prominent entrepreneurs and business leaders, Naomi Simson is known as the founding director of online experience retailer RedBalloon. She’s an investor on Network Ten’s popular television series Shark Tank, a business blogger and author and is now co-founder of the newly formed The Big Red Group (BRG) an organisation housing her four businesses RedBalloon, Redii, Wrapped and The Huddle.

         

        After recently securing the exclusive rights to bring the world’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) digital marketing platform Albert to Australia and New Zealand, the BRG is paving the way for fully autonomous digital marketing campaigns.

        A true business influencer and leader with more than 2 million LinkedIn followers, Naomi also assists entrepreneurs in turning their ideas into big business through her online course ‘Building your Business Brand’ through her education platform, The Huddle. 

        As an engaging and passionate speaker, Naomi is relatable across a broad variety of audiences and topics. Often drawing on her own personal experiences, she provides thoughtful and honest conversations on topics such as Purpose, Leadership, Business Success, The Entrepreneurial Journey and Thriving Workplaces.

        Before founding RedBalloon, Naomi worked for big businesses including IBM, Apple, KPMG and Ansett Airlines – all of which influenced her views on workplaces.

        Naomi’s received a number of high profile awards including the 2008 National Telstra Business Women Awards for Innovation, Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Industry category winner 2011, and Lifetime Achievement Silver Stevie Award 2013. And in early February 2017, she commenced her role as a member of the University of Melbourne's Faculty's Business and Economics Board.

        Since joining eftpos Australia in 2012, Warwick has worked closely with ARA to help support Australia’s retail industry. Before joining eftpos, Warwick worked in journalism, politics and telecommunications, where he performed a variety of senior roles including General Manager of Retail and Channels Public Affairs at Telstra. Warwick has more than 30 years of experience in communications and a passion for Australian business.

        As one of Australia’s most talented and recognised textile design artists in Australia, and as a passionate advisor on circular textile innovation, Camille Reed is highly sort after for her textile expertise and sustainability involvement within the fashion industry. Her exclusive works have been featured by some of Australia’s largest retail brands, and also by some of the biggest international high street brands in the US, UK and Europe. She is known in the industry for her can-do attitude, with a feverous passion for recycling and sustainability. Camille has proudly aligned herself through partnerships with National and International circular economy experts as she builds Australia's newest and largest association, the Australasian Circular Textile Association (ACTA) for responsible practice in the fashion sector – with an aim to elevate and innovate the apparel manufacturing industry. Never one to sit back and wait for change, Camille is recognised as a world leader in fashion sustainability founding Australia’s first circular fashion conference, (ACFC) – an annual event collectively supporting AU/NZs industry to become self-sufficient in sustainable best practice. The next ACFC conference will be held in Melbourne, 21st March 2019.

Ultimately, he is motivated by results. With 40 years of experience he brings substantial skills in managing change, organising people and leading teams with a passion for entrepreneurial-ship and empowerment.

        Radinck van Vollenhoven is the Country Manager of Stocard in Australia and New Zealand, the leading mobile wallet with over 2.4 million engaged shoppers and a strategic partner to retailers looking to close the loop between the digital and physical worlds. Radinck is a highly driven senior retail executive and well versed on the customer of the future and how to effectively engage them, drive repeat business and improve sales revenue through strategic marketing. He has launched and scaled multiple startup businesses in the technology, retail and media space over the last decade, spanning multiple continents. Radinck is especially passionate about disruptive technology that has the potential to change the way consumers interact with each other and the brands and businesses around them. Prior to Stocard, Radinck worked for Apple, Criteo and Spotify in various business development and management positions building their Australian and European markets.

        Rupert is an accomplished digital entrepreneur and has been working on the frontline of immersive retail technology solutions for more than 15 years. A serial entrepreneur, he has extensive experience developing and growing of leading-edge tech ventures. Rupert grew up with dyslexia as a child and relied on visualisation to learn, understand and engage with the world. This lead him to create on of NZ’s first digital agencies: One Fat Sheep. The defining moment was when Rupert's team created the World's First 3D Zombies Shooter on a Pizza box for Hell Pizza, utilising Augmented Reality, it was the most downloaded app in NZ over Facebook and Trademe for a number of weeks in the app store. Off the back of this, Rupert was captivated by the enormous potential of Augmented Reality (AR) to solve practical problems and set out to create a tool that would enable anyone to build their own AR experiences He formed Plattar, and in 2014 and in April 2016 he successfully raised A$1.1 million in a seed funding round led by News Corp. Plattar has established a blue chip client base in Australia, New Zealand and the US including Fortune 500 and ASX 100 companies.

        The Australian Retailers Association (ARA) are proud to announce the 2018 eftpos ARA Australian Retail Awards, the country’s largest and longest running national retail awards program, celebrating the breadth of talent across the dynamic and ever-evolving retail landscape. This year’s awards themed, The Retail Realm: thinking outside the shop, will touch on every element in the retail sphere including customer experience, technology, payments, sustainability, supply chain, growth, employee development and corporate social responsibility.

        With 13 awards up for grabs, the ARA will be working with a panel of experts and industry leaders to determine what constitutes the ‘best in retail’ across three categories including customer experience, retail workers and industry leaders.

        2018 Retail Innovator of the Year 

        The ARA’s Australian Retail Innovator of the Year Award recognises an innovative approach to retail  products, services or operations. The innovation must result in either increased efficiency and/or effectiveness of a process or service, a more ethical and/or sustainable approach, or increased customer satisfaction.

        The innovation must have been developed (worked on) in the three years prior to the closing date for this year's 2018 eftpos ARA Australian Retail Awards.

        The ARA’s Store Fit-out of the Year Award recognises the commitment made by great retailers in the industry to design or re-design their store concepts and demonstrate standards of excellent visual execution.
